Greencyde @ Dark Heart Recordings has been busy bringing the best in future garage/ambient to the masses. The weekly broadcasts are starting to stack up and a solid roster of guest curators have been lending a hand. Big ups to Brett and all of the guest hosts for taking the time to put these sets together, and of course the creators still tapped into this vibe staring into the light at the end of tunnel.
Featuring: between the lines
Future Cosmetiq releases the 3rd seasonal compilation ep featuring the same set of globally spread about creators.
May the harvest be rich and bountiful.
Charles & The Fury contributes Pulsar:
Linear Curb includes two tracks on this release. A remix of InnrVoices' Diva, and Somewhere Inside:
enkrypted brings nowhere to run:
Dark Heart Recordings recently released the "Tipped/Should" ep.
More melancholic moods and mandolin melodies with a subtle theme of sporadic yet progressive vocal parts.
These feel like short stories or maybe chapters of a book; mostly feelings I suppose. There has to be something during the process that hits me like a ton of bricks or makes me no longer want to stay seated. Both pieces were predominately driven by the former. The paradox of being literal in a lucid dream:
Future Cosmetiq released the "Winter" ep featuring the same line up as the "Autumn" compilation:
Linear Curb remixes the epic masterpiece by Charles & the Fury:
Here is the original:
Additionally Linear Curb contributes a "Future mix" of Litestep:
Charles & the Fury provides an extended remix of "Diva" by label mate innrVoice. innrVoice writes forward thinking electronic music; full weight synths, breaks, and solid mixdowns are a re-occurring theme:
"You" is something I put together after spending some time on the coast. I struggled with sound sleep after my return and needed to work out some unresolved feelings about my experience. The bass is "mono" in this track (unlike most of my others):
Future Cosmetiq released the "before we go" ep yesterday featuring the title track and a remix of "cull".
"before we go" is a misty opener stripped down allowing the bass and drums to be the driving components of the track. The bass line progresses in the second section to keep it interesting without introducing too many new elements:
"cull" is a remix of a previously released Future Cosmetiq track. Longer than the original version; intention was to make this more progressive. Featuring custom foley hits, ambiance, and the mandolin:
As summer came to a close I shared a track I had been working on with Pat at Future Cosmetiq and he let me in on a release with label mates Charles and the fury, and Linear Curb.
Eastern Promise by Charles and the fury is no exception to the finely tuned craft of slow burning chords, layers, texture, and vocal placement. The catalog is heavy and recommended. This music has that rare ability which transcends time in regard to the listening experience and the audio itself.
Linear Curb delivers more taste maker ambient garage. The progressions are unique and the patches are refreshing. Photons and Atmosphere is nothing short of that with fine details in the beat and percussion. The catalog is massive and recommended.
Here is my contribution:
"between the lines" was released in July on Dark Heart Recordings:
This label has been a staple in my listening and presents a respectably well rounded volume of future garage/ambient tunes.
Here is a growing playlist of releases from Dark Heart for spotify folks:
Massive thanks to Brett "Greencyde" for the support and getting this track out there. Really made me feel welcomed into the community from the start.
"Cull" recently got a proper release on the Future Cosmetiq label. Glad to have this track among some of my favorite artists in the future/ambient genre:
Here is a nice mix of some of the labels early releases by T&P:
OneDrewOneDidnt (host of the First Rodeo show on Prague's Punctum Radio) recently reached out about a track I had posted under the alias "When She Weeps". I immediately grinned when I read "Prague's". I've heard of the area ever since I was a kid as my ancestors are Czech and I've looked into travelling there in the past. It's nice knowing that although I may never make it there, my sound did...
